Mathematically, a vacuum (twist or twist-in) is a twistor with negative potential. It is the opposite of a bubble. Taken by themselves, vacua are scalar fields of deflatons.


Notes (+):

+ Both bubbles and vacua output the same absolute value.

+ Whereas an inflaton will blowup a function at a single point, a deflaton will depress every point in its vector field.
